Pre-Schoolers 3-4

Your child is at the very beginning of learning how to get along with others as they learn that other people are real and have feelings. They are starting to develop a sense of humour and like to laugh at and repeat silly words and situations.

Pre-Schoolers 3-4

A three year old’s world is very powerful and sometimes it is difficult for them to sort out what is pretend and what is real.

Running, jumping, rolling, dancing and any other motion is fun for this age group and the Rockpools Room is set out for all these activities and more.

As preschoolers they are very excited about all the things they want to do and all the things they can do.

A typical day includes:

Engaging in mixed age group play at the beginning of the day with Rockpools and Seabirds. As the preschool day commences the Rockpools children will take the opportunity to engage in activity in the outside learning setting before morning tea and returning inside for more focused small group play exercising their fine motor skills, eye-hand co-ordination and attendance-to-task skills.

Grouptimes focusing on early literacy and numeracy, music and dance, story and discussion are an important part of the Rockpools program. This program will support children’s growth and development as active, creative, capable and resourceful learners.

Of course mealtimes and a rest and relaxation time is also part of the Rockpools day ensuring they are well refuelled and re-energised.
