As the St Anne’s educators continue to support the children’s learning and knowledge of their local community and the traditional custodians of this Bundjalung country, they are leading the children through a variety of experiences through art, music and story, to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As we do this we are mindful of the Early Years Learning Framework Principle ‘Respect for diversity’: Educators recognise that diversity contributes to the richness of our society and provides a valid evidence base about ways of knowing. For Australia it also includes promoting greater understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being.
How NAIDOC week is being celebrated at St Anne’s. “We all stand on sacred ground: Learn, Respect and Celebrate.”
